Greys Specialist Recruitment are working on behalf of a leading national plant hire business who are looking to appoint an experienced Area Sales Manager to join their established Northern Sales team. This is a field-based role covering the Northwest region, including areas such as Manchester, Liverpool, Bolton, Preston, Lancaster and North Wales. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and growing existing customer relationships, while also identifying and developing new business opportunities across the region.
The Role
As Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for building strong, long-term relationships with customers across the construction, concrete, plant hire and wider site services markets. The role will involve regular customer visits, account reviews and service meetings, with a focus on understanding upcoming projects, identifying future opportunities and promoting a full range of plant hire and specialist equipment services. Alongside account management, you will proactively research and canvass the region, identify potential new customers, establish contact with decision-makers and build a pipeline of future business. You will manage and grow existing accounts across the region, identify future projects, promote specialist plant hire and equipment services, negotiate pricing, track sales activity and report progress through regular sales meetings. You will also be expected to maintain accurate records and complete general sales administration where required.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven Area Sales Manager, Account Manager or Business Development background
- Experience managing customer relationships and developing new business across a territory
- Strong communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills
- Confident attending customer meetings and site visits
- Commercially aware, organised and comfortable managing opportunities through a sales pipeline
- IT literate, including Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Full UK driving licence
Package
