We're working with a well-established and growing specialist distributor within the construction and building products sector, who are looking to appoint an experienced Regional Sales Manager to take ownership of sales growth across the North of England.
This is a key commercial role focused on winning new business, developing high-value customer relationships and driving revenue across the region.
You'll have the autonomy to develop your own regional sales strategy, identify new opportunities and work closely with branch and technical sales teams to convert them into long-term customers.
The business has an established presence across the UK and strong relationships with leading manufacturers, giving you a well-supported platform from which to grow the territory.
The Role
As Regional Sales Manager, you'll be responsible for developing and delivering a clear sales plan for your region, identifying where the strongest opportunities sit and turning those opportunities into revenue.
You’ll spend a significant amount of time developing relationships with key decision makers, both within existing accounts and prospective customers, understanding their requirements and presenting the right products and solutions.
You’ll also work closely with branch teams to share market intelligence, generate new opportunities, and ensure customers receive a consistently high level of service.
Your responsibilities will include
- Taking ownership of sales growth across the North of England.
- Developing and executing a regional sales plan to achieve annual targets.
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Building strong relationships with senior decision makers and key accounts.
- Developing commercial proposals and negotiating and closing new business.
- Managing and negotiating trading agreements across allocated accounts.
- Working closely with branch and technical sales teams to maximise opportunities.
- Maintaining accurate CRM records and tracking performance against targets.
- Sharing customer and market intelligence with internal teams.
- Supporting customer retention and resolving issues where required.
- Keeping up to date with new products and developments across the product range.
About You
We're looking for a commercially minded sales professional who is confident operating at a senior customer level and has a genuine track record of winning and developing business.
You’ll ideally have
- Strong experience in a customer-facing sales role.
- A proven track record of developing senior client relationships.
- Experience within construction, building products or the trade sector.
- Previous experience of managing or leading people, ideally within a trade, construction or logistics environment.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- A proactive, target-driven approach to sales.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Good IT and CRM skills.
- A full clean driving licence.
