We are recruiting for an experienced MSK Physiotherapist to join a leading Occupational Health provider, delivering high-quality physiotherapy services at a large manufacturing site in the North West. Working from a dedicated on-site clinic, you will provide musculoskeletal assessments, rehabilitation, case management, and workplace ergonomic assessments to support employees in maintaining and returning to work safely. This fixed-term contract is expected to commence in November 2026. Candidates who join before the service launch will initially work remotely, completing training and supporting case management activities before transitioning to the on-site service.

About the role

Occupational Health Physiotherapy focuses on helping individuals overcome health-related barriers that affect their ability to work. Using your clinical expertise, you will assess, diagnose, and manage musculoskeletal conditions in line with NICE guidelines, HCPC standards, and CSP best practice. You'll adopt a biopsychosocial approach, supported by strong clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice, to develop effective treatment and rehabilitation plans. The role includes both face-to-face and remote consultations, with an emphasis on education, exercise-based rehabilitation, self-management strategies, and functional recovery. Hands-on treatment may be appropriate in some cases but is not the primary focus. You will also produce clear, professional reports that provide practical recommendations on functional capacity and workplace adjustments, helping both employees and employers achieve positive outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat employees presenting with musculoskeletal conditions through both face-to-face and remote consultations.
  • Deliver evidence-based rehabilitation programmes aligned with national clinical standards.
  • Conduct ergonomic and workplace assessments, including DSE assessments and task-based evaluations.
  • Identify workplace factors contributing to musculoskeletal disorders and provide practical recommendations.
  • Provide functional assessments and return-to-work advice.
  • Manage clinical caseloads while maintaining professional objectivity and confidentiality.
  • Use a biopsychosocial approach to support sustainable recovery and positive workplace outcomes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A recognised Physiotherapy qualification.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Full membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).
  • Postgraduate training or experience in Occupational Health and/or Ergonomics (desirable).
  • Previous Occupational Health experience or a strong interest in developing within the specialty.
  • Experience providing functional assessments and fitness-for-work advice.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
