Paediatric Occupational Therapist

Location: Leicestershire

Agency Contract – Ad Hoc

Rates: Great hourly rates of pay (weekly pay)

The Paediatric Occupational Therapist will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing individualised therapy programmes to help children develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and learning.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children’s physical, emotional, sensory, and environmental needs.
  • Develop and implement personalised treatment plans based on assessments and goals, tailored to the developmental needs of children.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to improve children’s ability to perform daily activities, including self-care, play, and school tasks.
  • Educate and support families and caregivers about treatment plans, strategies, and the importance of occupational therapy.
  • Monitor and document children’s progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with organisational and regulatory standards.

Qualifications & Experience :

  • HCPC registered
  • Occupational Therapy degree
  • Proven experience as a Paediatric Occupational Therapist in a clinical or educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of paediatric therapeutic techniques, developmental milestones, and evidence-based practices.
  • Compassionate, child-centred approach to care.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with specific paediatric populations (e.g., children with autism, developmental delays, sensory processing disorders).
  • Advanced certifications or specialisations in areas such as sensory integration, neurodevelopmental therapy, or feeding therapy.
