Join to apply for the Senior Counsel role at Greyhound Capital. Greyhound is an emerging, research-driven growth equity firm founded on the belief that building enduring companies is one of the hardest challenges in business — and only a select few can achieve it. We specialize in identifying these exceptional companies as early as possible and earning the privilege to support them on their journey toward lasting greatness. Our mission is to achieve market leading investment returns through a concentrated portfolio of enduring growth companies.

We are looking to strengthen our team with a Senior Counsel to serve as the go-to legal operator across the firm. This is a high-impact, high-trust role supporting Greyhound’s continued growth by owning and driving a broad range of legal and compliance responsibilities. You will work closely with deal teams, finance, and external counsel, reporting directly to the CEO. Your role will be key in helping us move fast while staying thoughtful and risk-aware. We’re looking for someone who brings strong legal judgment, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to translate complexity into clear, practical advice. You will thrive here if you’re a self-starter, enjoy working across disciplines, and take pride in getting things done with precision and speed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the review, negotiation, and execution of investments, in close partnership with external counsel.
  • Oversee fund formation and negotiation for Fund IV, including coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Own the firm’s compliance program, ensuring adherence to fund documentation and regulatory obligations.
  • Manage employment-related legal matters, including documentation, risk management, and maintenance of carried interest structures.
  • Lead on general corporate legal work, including commercial contracts, governance, and firm-wide legal projects.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND

  • 5–8 years PQE with a strong foundation in corporate law, gained at a top-tier international law firm.
  • Demonstrated track record of supporting venture capital or growth equity transactions, including cross-border deal execution.
  • Experience working in-house, or close collaboration with in-house teams, is preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a rigorous approach to documentation, deadlines, and process ownership.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills, comfortable managing multiple workstreams simultaneously and independently.
  • Ability to work across disciplines with a pragmatic and business-oriented approach to legal problem-solving.
  • Experience managing external counsel, vendors, and internal stakeholders across legal, investment, and operational teams.

FIT WITH OUR OPERATING PRINCIPLES

  • Produces consistently high-quality work and seeks to raise the standard through constant iteration and improvement.
  • Uses logic, first principles, and research to solve complex problems with clarity and precision.
  • Prioritises long-term value creation and quality over short-term gains.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment where everyone takes ownership.
  • Focused on driving outcomes, not titles—willing to roll up their sleeves to get things done.

WHY THIS IS AN EXCEPTIONAL OPPORTUNITY

  • Join a firm where legal is central to the business and directly influences investment and firm-building decisions.
  • Work closely with leadership and the investment team on high-profile, global transactions and firm initiatives.
  • Help shape the legal and operational foundation of a fast-growing investment firm.
  • Be part of a high-performance, entrepreneurial culture where ownership and impact are rewarded.

BENEFITS

  • Competitive salary with performance-based bonus.
  • Pension contribution.
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays.
  • Medical, dental, and life insurance.
  • Bright, modern office with bicycle storage and shower facilities.
