Greyfriars is an exquisite, Michelin recommended, luxury hotel with superb restaurant and lounge bars, opened in 2015. Beautifully appointed with the customers' comfort and convenience in mind, Greyfriars offers 5* service, comfortable lounges, cosy Club rooms, larger Classic rooms and spacious luxury suites. It is a destination in its own right, the only place to stay when visiting Colchester, Constable Country and this part of East Anglia.
We are looking for a hospitality professional to oversee the Food and Beverage operation at Greyfriars Hotel consisting of The Baroque Cocktail Bar, Cloisters Restaurant, The Rose room afternoon Tea lounge, two additional Lounge areas and the Salon, our Private dining/meeting room. This is a hands-on service-based operational role to deliver excellent service across all areas through recruitment, leadership, training and coaching of the Food and Beverage team. Whilst maintaining existing service standards, you will also be required to implement new standards to further enhance our guests' Food and Beverage experience.
Key Areas of Responsibility:- Day to day management of all F & B areas including the Terrace when open ensuring the highest possible standards and guest satisfaction at all times.
- Instigate training and coaching in all areas of responsibility.
- The performance management of the team.
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of all food and beverage items.
- Delegate duties and tasks to staff to meet objectives and maximise resources.
- Set and monitor quality and service standards for staff.
- Organise and adjust staff rotas and schedules in accordance with available resources and forecasted revenues.
- Resolve customer complaints promptly.
- Ensure hygiene and cleanliness is up to required standard and to set these standards when necessary.
- Promote and practice compliance with fire, health, safety and hygiene standards and regulations.
- Oversee accurate cash-up procedures and ensure necessary paperwork is complete; ensure adherence to cash management procedures.
- Ensure adherence to stock control procedures; monitor and order supplies to maintain par stocks.
- Make certain all deliveries are checked in correctly and documentation is correct; check stock is correctly rotated and stored to reduce wastage.
- Maintain regular communication with the team and management through meetings and discussions.
- Stay current with relevant legislation.
