Resident Graduate Assistant Job

I am working with a beautiful school set within stunning grounds in the county of Hampshire. They are seeking both male and female lead graduates to join them from January 2025. Working as part of the residential team you will be engaged in the classroom, on the games field and within the boarding house. You will need to be caring, enthusiastic with a zest for life.

This a key role within the boarding team, in which you will support the Head of Girl\’s boarding and the Head of Boy\’s boarding to ensure the boarding provided is of the highest possible standard.

The Role:

  • Report to the Heads of Boarding and provide a high standard of pastoral care and supervision of the students within the house.
  • Being visible and available to boarders during nominated hours of duty.
  • Assist in maintaining high standards of behaviour, discipline, manners and courtesy.
  • Ensure effective communication with the boarding team, including briefings of activities etc
  • Ensure effective communication with parents guardians and agents when necessary.
  • Keep boarders healthy and safe, in line with the schools policies.
  • Keep parents informed about their children\’s health, safety and wellbeing, if necessary.
  • Be subject to an enhanced DBS Check
  • Comply with the schools code of conduct.

You will have:

  • Experience of working with children in a professional capacity
  • Experience of, and genuine enjoyment of working with children
  • Strong communication skills, ability to work under pressure, flexiblity.
  • Ability to take control and lead a group of children, in house, on activities and during excursions.
