Sole / Head Gardener Job – Prestbury Cheshire – starting at £35,000+ depending on experience
Exclusively to Greycoat Lumleys, our client is looking for an experienced Sole / Head Gardener to look after an established but continually developing private garden in Prestbury, Cheshire. This will be a full-time role and the client is looking for candidates who are local, who have a passion for gardening and horticulture and who can work autonomously.
The Garden has been developed by the owners over recent years and they love their garden and would like to find a Gardener who can maintain the established area as well as having ideas and input into developing the garden further.
The formal garden covers one acre of the much larger wider estate and includes area of interest such as ponds, orchard, extensive lawns, herbaceous borders, raised vegetable beds and they will also be adding in a green house.
This will be hands on role, and the gardener will be responsible for all outside areas, keeping them tidy and well maintained.
Duties will include:
- Lawn care including the use of auto lawn mowers
- Weeding and tidying boarders
- Trimming and maintained hedges and hedgerows
- Planting and propagation of plants
- Attending the vegetable and herb garden and fruit orchard
- Producing fresh cut flowers for the household
- Maintaining irrigation systems
- Tree work including cutting, logging and chipping
- Leaf clearing and composting
- Use and maintenance of all garden machinery
Candidate requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Formal horticultural qualifications
- Spraying certificates PA1 / PA2 – training can be provided
- Chainsaw certification – training can be provided
- Clean driving licence
- Enhanced DBS check
- Excellent references
Hours will be full-time Monday to Friday
Start as soon as the right candidate is found
