Chef de Partie / Junior Sous Chef Job
Salary: £36,000 basic + substantial monthly tips
Expected total earnings: Approximately £44,000 per annum
Schedule: 5 days per week, Monday and Tuesday closed
The Role
We are looking for an ambitious Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef to join a small, dedicated team at a highly regarded Michelin-starred restaurant in Southwest London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a talented chef who is serious about developing their career and wants to work in a kitchen where they can learn, take on responsibility and continue to improve.
About the Kitchen
The restaurant is known for high-quality, ingredient-led cooking, combining strong classical techniques with seasonal and locally sourced produce.
Working within a small kitchen team means you will have the opportunity to gain experience across different areas of the kitchen rather than being limited to one section.
You will work closely with the senior team, developing your cooking skills, knowledge and confidence while working with exceptional ingredients.
Career Development
This is a kitchen that genuinely invests in ambitious chefs and has a strong track record of developing young talent.
The team has a history of success in major culinary competitions, including prestigious national and international competitions.
For chefs who are interested in competing, there is the opportunity to receive mentorship and support from experienced senior chefs.
The focus is not simply on helping you become better at your current role, but on giving you the skills and experience to take the next step in your career.
About You
We are looking for someone with
- Experience in a demanding, high-quality kitchen.
- Strong classical cooking skills and a good technical foundation.
- A genuine passion for excellent ingredients and seasonal cooking.
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
- High standards of cleanliness and precision.
- A willingness to learn and take on constructive feedback.
- A strong work ethic and desire to keep improving.
- The ability to work well as part of a small team.
- Genuine ambition to progress their career.
Previous Michelin-starred experience is beneficial but not essential. We are more interested in your ability, attitude, work ethic and ambition than your current job title.
This role would suit a chef who is looking for more than just their next position and wants to work somewhere they can develop significantly as a cook and build a long-term career.
- Salary & Benefits
- £36,000 basic salary.
- Substantial monthly tips, with recent tips reaching approximately £830 per team member in a month.
- Expected total earnings of approximately £44,000 per annum, although tips vary and are not guaranteed.
- 5-day working week.
- Monday and Tuesday closed.
- Mentorship and career development from an experienced senior kitchen team.
- Support and guidance for major culinary competitions.
- Experience across different areas of a small Michelin-starred kitchen.
- Access to exceptional seasonal and locally sourced produce.
- Opportunity to develop strong classical cooking skills.
- A close-knit team where your contribution is recognised.
- A supportive, family-run working environment.
- Excellent opportunity for long-term career development.
