Greycoat Lumleys is offering a fantastic opportunity for a self-employed, part-time professional to support a lovely client near Bath, Somerset. The role involves assisting with managing a beautiful home and grounds, due to a mild disability of the homeowner. The home is peaceful, with no pets and a quiet social environment.
The property spans 3.5 acres, featuring water bodies, an old mill, and a weir. Candidates should be comfortable working near water and enjoy outdoor activities like fishing, swimming, and boating.
This flexible position requires 15-25 hours per week, tailored to the candidate’s skills. The ideal candidate is cheerful, versatile, and capable of handling various tasks, including:
- Garden maintenance: mowing, pruning, weeding, leaf blowing, digging, and bonfire preparation; confidence working on ladders for pruning
- Gutter and window cleaning up to the first floor
- Car cleaning: vacuuming and washing
- Driving: occasional trips to Bath, train stations, and rare visits to London or airports (client drives herself but may need assistance)
- Housekeeping: cleaning bathrooms, changing bed linen, vacuuming, mopping, basic ironing, and washing dishes (up to 6 hours weekly)
- Security and housesitting when the client is away, including collecting post and accepting deliveries
- Use of chainsaw, removal of debris from the weir, riverbank strimming, and tree work
Accommodation is a luxurious, open-plan, detached property of 1,500 sqft with river and tree frontage and a private courtyard. The role does not include a live-in partner or dogs, but cats and overnight guests are welcome with prior discussion.
Working hours are flexible and can be negotiated. A valid driving license and confidence in driving an automatic car are essential.
Start date: from 15th August
Salary: negotiable, ranging from £15,000 to £25,000 gross per annum, depending on experience, hours, and living arrangements.
