Laundress
Greycoat Lumleys clients are looking professional and experienced Laundress for private households, temporary or permanent basis.
Discretion is key for the role as well as being well versed on fabrics, designer clothing and having good, strong experience of working within an UHNW environment.
Location: London
Duties to include:
- Sort laundry by colour, fabric, and care requirements
- Pre-treat stains appropriately
- Wash items according to care labels; hand-wash delicate fabrics
- Iron, steam, or press clothing as needed
- Fold and store laundry neatly
- Organise wardrobes and closets by season or function
- Check for loose buttons and minor damages; perform basic mending
- Coordinate with tailors or dry cleaners for repairs
- Keep an inventory of luxury items and note care needs
- Properly clean and store outerwear and accessories
- Maintain tidy and organised linen closets
- Use appropriate detergents and maintain laundry equipment
- Notify the house manager about supplies or servicing needs
- Prioritise urgent laundry items
- Assist with guest preparations and unpack suitcases neatly
