An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Gardener to work alongside a Head Gardener on a stunning private property near Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire.

The 15 acre property encompasses a walled garden, kitchen garden, herbaceous garden, an orchard, swimming pool, seating areas and surrounding paddocks. Candidates must be enthusiastic gardeners, honest, reliable and capable of delivering an extremely high standard of work.

The new Gardener will work under the direction of the Head Gardener but must be able to work alone when required. Duties will include weeding, digging, mowing and a wide range of other horticultural duties as directed by the Head Gardener. This is a rare opportunity for a Gardener to improve on their existing skills and knowledge whilst working on an impressive private estate in a much sought-after location in the country.

Applicants should have good plant knowledge and be able to demonstrate an efficient and practical approach to their work. Good physical fitness is required as the position will be physically demanding at times. Spray certificates (PA1/PA6) would be an advantage, as would experience and competence with mowers, hedge cutters, strimmers and blowers.

Applicants should primarily be passionate gardeners with a genuine interest in horticulture, with a desire to learn and improve on their existing gardening knowledge.

Start Date: ASAP

Days & Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 gross per annum, negotiable depending on experience
