Live-In or Live-Out Housekeeper, Private Family Estate, Sevenoaks, Kent
A returning Greycoat Lumleys client is seeking an experienced, proactive, and organised Live-In or Live-Out Housekeeper to join their private family estate in Sevenoaks, Kent.
As the children have grown and both parents work full time, the family are looking for a reliable Housekeeper to take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of their home.
The family consists of two adults and two teenage children, with the youngest heading to boarding school this September. The property is a beautiful six-bedroom family home set within lovely grounds. A separate cleaner is employed for deep cleaning, and a gardener attends three times per week, allowing the successful candidate to focus on maintaining the home to a high standard and ensuring everything runs efficiently.
The role also includes caring for the family's cats while they are away on holiday. This typically includes approximately three weeks during the summer, along with occasional long weekends throughout the year, so the successful candidate will need to be flexible and happy to provide pet sitting as required.
Duties to include:
- Daily housekeeping, tidying, and maintaining high standards throughout the home
- Laundry, ironing, and wardrobe management
- Online grocery shopping and household provisioning
- Household administration and keeping supplies well stocked
- Food prep
- School collections and occasional driving duties when required
- Liaising with contractors and tradespeople
- Overseeing the day-to-day organisation of the household
- Caring for the family's cats and providing pet sitting while the family are away, including approximately three weeks during the summer holidays and occasional long weekends
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous private household housekeeping experience
- Full, clean UK driving licence (a vehicle will be provided for work duties)
- Proactive, organised, and able to work independently
- Excellent attention to detail and high housekeeping standards
- Flexible, reliable, and trustworthy
- Comfortable caring for pets and providing cat sitting when required
Working Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- 20 hours per week
- Occasional pet sitting while the family are away
Salary: £19 - £22 gross per hour
Accommodation is provided in a lovely, self-contained two-bedroom cottage situated on the estate with its own private garden. All utility bills and council tax are paid by the employer, and a well-behaved pet or partner may be considered.
Start Date: September 2026, or sooner for the right candidate.
