A wonderful opportunity has arisen for a talented and versatile Chef to join a family in Hampshire. The role is based in a stunning Tudor house set on 150 acres of beautiful countryside, yet close to large towns, offering the perfect balance of rural tranquillity and convenience.
The successful candidate will primarily cook for four family members, with additional guests on occasion. The property experiences busy periods when the family are in residence and entertaining, as well as quieter weeks when cooking for fewer people, so flexibility is essential. You will be responsible for preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner, menu planning, and shopping. When the days are quieter, you will only be required to cook lunch and dinner.
The family enjoys meals influenced by Ottolenghi and a family-style approach on a day-to-day basis, alongside more formal plated courses for events and entertaining.
You will have the opportunity to work closely with the existing team, which includes an Estate Manager, couple, Housekeeper, and Groundsman. The property features a large kitchen garden and fruit trees, giving you the chance to create dishes from fresh produce and experiment with preserves, chutneys, and seasonal cooking.
The family has two dogs, so confidence around pets is important. It is an ideal opportunity for a chef who enjoys working with seasonal ingredients, creating memorable meals, and being part of a supportive household team in a beautiful rural setting.
- Accommodation: Provided, a separate one-bedroom cottage, and well-behaved dogs are welcome.
- Days: Five days per week, with Wednesday and Thursday off.
- Driving: Essential due to the rural location; a car is provided for work purposes.
- Salary: £65,000 to £70,000 per annum.
- Start: ASAP.
