Our client is looking for an experienced Couple to take on a role looking after a large property in a rural setting near Eccleshall, Staffordshire. The household consists of two adults and a dog. The owners travel frequently, so they are looking for a couple who are happy to house and dog sit when required.
The house has 5 bedrooms and is set in around 9 acres of formal garden (gardeners employed). There is also an indoor swimming pool and outdoor tennis court. The couple need to be professional, discreet, and able to manage their own time.
Duties will include:
- Hands-on cleaning
- Laundry and ironing
- Shopping for groceries and household provisions
- Running errands
- General property maintenance – being hands-on and overseeing trades and contractors – needs to be comfortable working in a household with modern technology
- Maintenance of all gardening and household tools and equipment
- Occasional driving duties including general errands and airport transfers – the ability to complete minor repairs on a classic car collection would be a bonus but not essential
- Daily washing of the household vehicles
- Swimming pool maintenance
- Tennis court maintenance
- Occasionally helping in the garden to cover holidays or during busy times, but this is more of a maintenance role
- Looking after the dog when they are away including weekend cover
- Daily morning dog walking
- Occasionally visiting a second home in Devon to carry out maintenance and repairs and deep cleaning (expected to be for 1 week at a time and 3 times per year)
Excellent references and Enhanced DBS check required. Use of a vehicle for airport runs, access to gardeners' pick-up, but you will be required to use your own vehicle for shopping and errands for which you will be reimbursed.
Accommodation includes a 2-bedroom apartment – rent-free and reasonable utility bills covered by the employer – pets considered but must get on with their own dog. The accommodation is away from the main house and has its own private outside area.
25 days holidays + bank holidays. Normally Monday to Friday, full-time but some flexibility will be required on weekends with days off taken during the week. £65,000+ GPA + pension.
