Grey London is on a mission to create the most influential brands of the next decade, through the power of Famously Effective ideas. Famously Effective ideas extend far beyond the confines of advertising or marketing channels. They stretch our potential influence into wider culture – by breaking norms, smashing stereotypes, saving lives, changing minds, writing history, shifting conversations, and transforming perspectives.
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our team of change-makers on an initial short-term contract of 3 months, with the possibility to extend. In this role, you will lead projects of varying scale, budget, and discipline. Using your expertise, you will scope and plan with internal stakeholders and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing multiple teams, project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders.
At Grey, we have an exciting client portfolio, working with brands across the health & wellness sector, tourism, FMCG, telecomms, energy, sports & active wear, alongside pro bono projects for charity groups. This variety will keep you challenged and engaged, allowing you to broaden your experience and have an impact on culture. Within this role, the majority of your remit will be focused on a restricted category brand. Your key challenge will be juggling multiple workstreams for a complex, global, and highly regulated business while ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a range of projects, with a primary focus on operations and commercials, varying in sizes and complexity.
- Working closely with clients to drive best ways of working for teams, collaborating across the agency and with teams in WPP to keep everyone on track and working towards the same shared goal.
- Delivering multiple projects under various programmes, taking them from client brief to final output.
- Managing complex schedules that involve both internal and external teams.
- Tracking projects and tasks, communicating schedule and considerations to senior leadership.
- Prioritising activities for quick execution of critical path work items.
- Taking responsibility for the projects you own; driving them to delivery, working closely with the external production partner(s).
- Coordinating with stakeholders to manage, track and control project issues to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Developing reports to track planning, scheduling, issues, risks, and overall status.
- Overseeing input to support with the creation of new processes and tools as necessary.
- Monitoring overall progress, including resolving issues, managing budget, and initiating corrective action as appropriate.
- Managing third party vendors contributing to the projects.
- Working closely with the Heads of Department and Resourcing teams to monitor overall resource allocations for the projects.
What You Will Need
- Work well and exert influence as a member of a highly integrated team, with prior experience as a Senior PM in a Creative agency (or similar) environment.
- Leverage your project management skills: risk management, status reporting, change management, defining budgets & scopes, write estimations and proposals, draft legal documents and SOWs.
- Demonstrate strong communication (both written and verbal), interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Implement robust analytical skills to identify issues and apply effective problem-solving techniques.
- Communicate honestly and openly and always be open to feedback.
- Have experience managing a team, with the natural ability to motivate & lead.
- Manage up to senior stakeholders and day-to-day peers as a central point of information.
- Adopt strong client-facing and negotiation skills.
- Be comfortable and confident working directly with clients.
Inclusion & Belonging
At Grey, we know that the more diverse the input, the more famous and effective the output. Different perspectives spark bigger ideas, braver creativity and better work - and that starts with how we welcome new talent. We embrace applications from people underrepresented in our industry and value the unique skills, experiences and viewpoints everyone brings. Our goal is simple: create a place where everyone can belong, and no one feels the need to hide any part of who they are.
