The predicted salary is between 29000 - 31440 £ per year.

Redgrave site supplies most of the UK retailers with multi-species primal and added value speciality poultry products. Working with the Technical team to ensure that all products are correctly specified with accurate product information. This role will involve direct customer interface.

Key Results Areas and Performance Measures:

  • Produce new specifications in a timely manner including photo and quality standards.
  • Support existing specifications in a format acceptable to individual customers.
  • Support any internal Gressingham Foods requirements.
  • Ensure signed (manual/electronic) specifications are held on site for products at all stages of manufacture, with periodic reviews and updates.
  • Provide technical assistance to the Product Development team in factory trials, pre-productions, and assistance to the factory, at launch.
  • Be familiar with all retailer online systems in order to produce finished product specifications.
  • Review specifications on a routine basis to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Assist in the technical ownership of the product from development handover to launch.
  • Lead and organise internal specifications to ensure all are up to date.
  • Become more technical minded and fully understand all product processes.
  • Complete, document and verify internal audits carried out against the internal audit plan.

Principal Accountabilities:

Reporting to the Technical Co-ordinator, the Specifications Technologist is accountable for producing, updating and reviewing specifications.

Key Working Relationships:

Internal – All colleagues at all levels. External – Suppliers at all levels. Customers at all levels.

Competencies:

  • Experience: Experience of customers specifications systems. Minimum one year experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of HACCP & Food Safety principles.
  • Qualifications: GCSE English & Math or equivalent.
  • Skills: Good interpersonal skills and a team player. Good personal communication and presentation in respect of customer interface as demanded by the role.

Flexibility:

The job holder may be required at any time to perform any reasonable task outside the general provisions of this job description in the pursuance of Good Company practice or need. Be aware that holidays will be severely limited during November and December due to workload commitment.

Confidentiality:

The jobholder is required to respect any matter deemed by management as confidential as outlined in the Contract of Employment.

Hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm

Salary: During Probation £29,000 per year after successful probation £31,440 per year

This training will not only support your current position but aims to improve and build on aspects of a future career with the Company.
