Reporting to: Farm Manager

Overall aim of the Job: To produce ducks of the best quality as efficiently as possible.

Key Tasks Within The Job:

  • To maintain and improve the high level of poultry welfare.
  • Ensure all farm bio-security guidance is followed (different site procedures followed).
  • To assist with achieving target weights and mortalities.
  • To work to a high health and safety standard feeding back any ideas for improvement to the site manager and any concerns identified.
  • Produce all records required in order to provide accurate up to date information.
  • Work closely with farm manager and staff on site to ensure all tasks get carried out efficiently and safely.
  • Monitor stock control of farm supplies and report any shortage of supplies to site manager.
  • To work with staff in a positive, professional manner.
  • To carry out any other tasks relating to poultry farming as the Company may reasonably require.

Skills, Knowledge And Experience:

  • Full induction and on-site training, no experience required.
  • Poultry Passport training and a level 2 in Poultry farming will be provided.

Behaviours:

  • Excellent timekeeping. (Limited time to carry out task. Failure to arrive on time puts extra pressure on the rest of the team).
  • Good communication skills (liaise with team and manager, feeding back any concerns or suggestions for improvements). Keep manager aware of circumstances (sick absence/holiday requests etc).
  • Strong team working skills (support and encouragement, building good relationships with colleagues across all Departments).

Job Type: Permanent

Hours per week: 39 Hours per week

Working hours: Monday to Thursday 07:00am to 03:30pm, Friday's 07:30am – 14:30pm. Every other weekend.

Pay Rate: £12.35 per hour, overtime rate £16.46.

Own transport is essential due to the remote location.
