Reporting to: Agricultural Maintenance Manager

Overall aim of the job: Working across multiple sites you will be responsible for testing and repairing equipment, both agricultural and domestic equipment. This is a varied role requiring good electrical knowledge.

Key Tasks Within The Job

  • Planned maintenance in a highly regulated environment.
  • Isolates defective equipment from power supply, checks visually for faults, tests mechanical parts for faults, isolates the problem areas and takes corrective action to repair the problem.
  • Conducts preventative maintenance on equipment by checking for smooth operation of the same and replacing worn and defective parts.
  • The installation of electrical systems and associated equipment followed up with the appropriate certification.
  • Takes an active part in the on-call system, which may require the applicant to become an authorised person.
  • Conforms to safety rules and applies good electrical and safety practices.
  • Multi-skilled background with a good understanding of commercial, residential installation – agricultural installation an advantage.
  • Must be willing to undertake company standard internal workshops & training.
  • Experience of safe working practices.
  • Be able to communicate effectively and have a flexible approach to work patterns.
  • You must possess the ability to use your initiative, exercise attention to detail, work as part of a team and independently, have a high standard of organisation, be able to prioritise and work under pressure.

Qualifications

  • Qualified to NVQ level 3 diploma or equivalent.
  • C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing would be advantageous but not essential.
  • 18th Edition.
  • Full UK Driving Licence is required.

A company vehicle and mobile phone will be supplied. The use of the van can be extended to private use if requested. Please note that this will be a taxable benefit for HMRC purposes.

Job Type: Permanent

Hours per week: 48 Hours per week

Working Times: Monday to Friday, start time from 6am. On call over on alternative weeks / weekends.

Pay Rate: Competitive salary depending on experience, progression routes available as training is completed, and the role taken on.
