Overview
Reporting to: Dry Goods Warehouse Manager. To control stock levels of all supplies for use in the factory and workshop, ensuring there are always adequate supplies available. To check and sign for all deliveries and ensure all documents are promptly returned to the purchasing office.
Responsibilities
- Ensure stock levels are maintained at minimum to prevent out-of-stock situations.
- Ensure the rotation of stock.
- All goods in stores must be segregated and identified.
- Keep stores areas clean and tidy at all times, ensuring pedestrian routes and fire exits remain clear.
- Receive all goods inwards and unload vans and lorries manually or by fork lift.
- Ensure that any delivered goods are stored before the end of each day.
- Check deliveries against delivery notes, sign for them, and return documents promptly to the purchasing office.
- Responsible for the controlled issue of personal protective equipment (PPE). Ensure that new issues are only made on return of damaged or worn-out equipment. Complete PPE forms for the issue of any personal items beyond items issued daily.
- Store items safely and ensure all items in store are stored securely.
- Ensure the safety of other personnel who may be required to work in the stores areas.
- Liaise with Managers & Supervisors regarding regular requirements for each department to ensure prompt daily issues.
- Undertake any other reasonable request made by management to ensure the efficient running of the factory processing.
