Reporting to the Assistant Financial Controller, this role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance across the Group. Your primary responsibilities include month-end and year-end close processes, balance sheet control, preparation of VAT and overseas tax returns, assisting in statutory accounts preparation, and the year-end audit process.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that all balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and on time, and are reviewed on a timely basis as appropriate.
- Prepare month-end journals and assist in the preparation of the monthly management accounts.
- Preparation of quarterly UK VAT returns and overseas sales tax returns, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of year-end UK statutory accounts in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Support the finance team in the Group and overseas year-end audit process by preparing year-end schedules, reconciliations and supporting audit deliverables.
- Assist the Finance team with the Global corporate tax reporting, compliance and accounting.
- Supporting weekly cashflow forecasting, treasury management, and other key month-end tasks.
Key Skills
- Proven experience in financial accounting and month-end close activities.
- Strong balance sheet reconciliation skills with attention to detail.
- Experience working with auditors and exposure to the statutory audit process.
- Fully qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or part qualified will be considered with significant relevant experience.
- Up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and experience of drafting statutory accounts.
- Knowledge of UK VAT and corporation tax compliance.
- Demonstrable experience working in a global, multi-currency environment.
- Advanced proficiency MS Office, with exceptional Excel skills.
