Job Purpose

Gresham Technologies is seeking an experienced Senior Support Engineer to take ownership of our Microsoft 365 estate, network infrastructure, and cloud services.

This is a business-as-usual (BAU) role with exposure to transformation projects, providing an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wants to work across both steady-state operations and strategic initiatives.

You’ll be the technical expert for Microsoft 365, remote access solutions and cloud infrastructure (AWS), supporting our users and ensuring the reliability and security of our IT services.

We are open to locations in the UK - London, Manchester, Southampton or Bristol.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide senior-level support for Exchange Online, Teams, Share Point, One Drive, and Outlook
  • Manage Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) including user provisioning, conditional access, and MFA
  • Administer Microsoft Intune for device management and application deployment
  • Monitor service health, respond to incidents, and upscale to Microsoft support as needed
  • Configure security features and manage external collaboration scenarios
  • Network Infrastructure & Remote Access
  • Manage VPN infrastructure and remote connectivity solutions
  • Strong IP networking: routing, subnets, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and troubleshooting
  • Work with ISPs and WAN providers on circuit provisioning and fault resolution
  • Support SD‑WAN configurations and monitor network performance
  • Support AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Cloud Watch) – or Azure equivalent
  • Maintain hybrid cloud connectivity between on‑premises and cloud environments
  • Monitor cloud resource utilisation, cost optimisation, and performance
  • Support cloud security configurations including security groups and IAM policies
  • Participate in backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity activities
  • Identity & Access Management
  • Manage identity lifecycle (onboarding, offboarding, role changes)
  • Configure authentication policies, SSO integrations, and access controls
  • Troubleshoot authentication issues across applications and platforms
  • Support MFA deployments and RBAC configurations
  • Contribute to infrastructure projects (network upgrades, cloud migrations, security enhancements)
  • Implement automation using Power Shell and scripting
  • Document technical configurations and create knowledge base articles
  • Support transformation activities related to business growth and organisational changes
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and service desk team
  • Act as an escalation point and technical authority for complex infrastructure issues
  • 5+ years supporting Microsoft 365 / Office 365 in an enterprise environment
  • Strong knowledge of Exchange Online, Teams, Share Point, One Drive, Entra ID, and Intune
  • AWS cloud experience (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM) – or Azure equivalent
  • Good Power Shell scripting for automation and administration
  • Understanding of IAM concepts (SSO, SAML, OAuth, MFA)
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly
  • Leadership qualities with ability to mentor and guide junior team members
  • Collaborative mindset and team player
  • Familiarity with Python scripting alongside Power Shell
  • Experience with SASE/SSE technology – Zscaler, Palo Alto
  • ITSM platform experience and monitoring tools
  • Certifications in Microsoft 365, AWS, or networking (e. g., MS‑102, AWS SAA, CCNA)
