Our solutions automate data controls, reconciliations, workflows and exception management, enabling clients to reduce operational risk, strengthen data governance and enhance confidence in reporting across highly regulated environments. Serving both buy‑side and sell‑side organisations worldwide, Gresham partners with clients to deliver trusted, transparent and resilient data operations.

Job Purpose

The Data Acquisition Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring timely, accurate, and complete delivery of all incoming data across our external sources. This team is the operational heartbeat of our data pipeline—responsible for monitoring inbound feeds, identifying late or missing data, investigating issues directly with data sources, and ensuring updates are reflected to clients via automated dashboard notes. The role requires strong communication, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage a high volume of sources in a fast‑moving environment. You will work closely with our development teams to ensure systems scale effectively as we onboard new clients and expand data coverage. You will also maintain and optimize delivery schedules, ensuring our data ecosystem remains reliable and efficient.

Job Responsibilities

  • Identify, investigate, and resolve issues related to late, missing, or incomplete data.
  • Communicate directly with data providers to elevate and address delivery issues.
  • Document issue outcomes and ensure accurate automated updates appear on the client dashboard.

Client Updates & Communication

  • Provide timely updates to clients via automated delivery status notes and standardized messaging.
  • Ensure all issue resolutions, delays, and source updates are communicated within internal systems used for client reporting.
  • Partner with development and engineering teams to improve system performance, scale data ingestion, and enhance workflow automation.
  • Participate in testing or validation of enhancements related to data ingestion, monitoring tools, scheduling logic, or alerting mechanisms.

Delivery Profile & Schedule Management

  • Maintain accurate delivery profiles and schedules for all data sources.
  • Continuously review and optimize delivery patterns to improve operational efficiency.
  • Identify potential bottlenecks or risks in the delivery ecosystem and propose solutions.

Operational Excellence

  • Work in a structured, detail‑oriented manner to manage a large portfolio of data sources.
  • Prioritise effectively in a high‑volume environment where time management is essential.
  • Own your tasks from start to finish, ensuring accountability and initiative-taking communication.

Job Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage a high volume of sources, issues, and workflows simultaneously.
  • Solid communication skills—clear, concise, and confident when working with external data providers.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities; able to break down issues quickly and accurately.
  • Comfortable working with technical teams and learning how data flows through systems.
  • Familiarity with structured data, data operations, or time‑sensitive data workflows is a plus.
  • Comfortable investigating issues and following threads until complete resolution.
  • Curious about data operations and committed to continuous improvement.
