Indirect Tax Manager – International Insurance Group

A leading global insurance organisation is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join its growing tax function and take ownership of key tax matters across an international, fast-paced business.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the UK corporation tax compliance and reporting cycle, including the preparation, review and oversight of deferred tax reporting.
  • Prepare and review Lloyd’s syndicate tax returns, with previous experience in this area considered highly advantageous.
  • Partner with the Head of Finance to support the development and delivery of the wider tax strategy.
  • Act as a key tax business partner to the wider organisation, providing advice on the tax implications of strategic initiatives including M&A activity, international expansion and other commercial projects, supported by Big 4 advisers where required.
  • Manage and maintain the relationship with HMRC, handling enquiries and ensuring effective communication.
  • Oversee outsourced VAT compliance processes, with the opportunity to support the future transition of VAT activities in-house as the tax function continues to grow.

Requirements

  • Insurance sector experience is essential, with exposure to the Lloyd’s market considered a significant advantage.
  • Professionally qualified with a strong preference for candidates trained within a Big 4 or Top Tier environment (ACA, CTA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK corporation tax compliance, reporting and governance.
  • Proven ability to operate as a trusted business partner, developed either within an in‑house tax function or through advisory experience in practice.
