As part of our dynamic Product Team, this role is a huge opportunity for a regulatory specialist looking for personal and professional development in their field. You will work closely with R&D, product managers, wider regulatory team, and external stakeholders to ensure products comply with relevant legal requirements in North America, from development to launch. How Will You Contribute

  • Working closely with R&D and product managers to check and approve product’s recipe and specification.
  • Keeping specifications and product label reports up to date and communicating with a wider team in case of any changes.
  • Review and approve product ingredients, formulation, specifications, and labels for compliance with U.S. FDA, USDA, CFIA, Health Canada and other relevant regulations and databases like NHPID.
  • Assist with product registrations, licensing, and regulatory documentation for market entry and export.
  • Own and develop compliant product label report (primary, secondary, and tertiary) for label creation and supporting design team with artwork content checks and amendments.
  • Own artwork approval for US & Canada.
  • Assess and validate product claims (e.g., nutritional, health, functional) to ensure compliance with North American regulatory standard.
  • Own nutrition testing program by advising quality team on list of nutrition tests that should be run for listed products in US & Canada and assessing the compliance of results.
  • Support marketing teams by reviewing promotional materials for regulatory adherence.
  • Assisting regulatory manager to track and analyze changes in U.S. and Canadian food regulations, industry standards and labelling law and advise internal teams on regulatory risks and compliance strategies.
  • Collaborating on creating compliance training material to ensure cohesive and consistent product representation.

What Will You Bring?

  • Qualification in food related subjects e.g. Food Science, Food Chemistry (Desirable).
  • Experience in North American food law, especially food/food supplement labelling and food additives.
  • Proven success in Product Compliance for North America.
  • Familiar with recipe compliance approval, product labelling, claims and reviewing product specification for NA region.
  • Able to work collaboratively across the business.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to network effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • The ability to solve problems, make decisions and offer solutions to wider business.
  • Able to operate independently, and as part of a team.
  • Ability to be analytical and manage detailed specifications, whilst also representing the Grenade brand.
  • Strong IT skills and specifically competent in Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills to foster great working relationships with key customers.
  • High levels of accuracy in work and a methodical approach with good analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of both English and French, especially Canadian French, is considered an asset.
