Job Description

Greig & Stephenson Architects: Freelance Architect (Experienced in Heritage, Stage 4/Construction Focus)

About Us

We have a fortunate specialism in the design of public market buildings and their associated public realm. The work we undertake is people and community-focused, often working with heritage assets, blending new and old architectures, striving for innovative sustainable solutions, while always seeking to catalyse life and activity in our towns and cities.

Increasingly, our markets are not just about the traders on the ground floor – they’re about creating versatile spaces which contribute to the life of a place from early morning to late evening. Our work considers markets from a macro-scale of how they contribute to the wider urban context, right down to the micro-scale of how an individual trades.

Within the context of the market, we are also involved with other complementary uses that contribute to the richness of the place, such as office or start-up space, restaurants, leisure, residential and public realm.
