Overview
We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated, and hard-working professional to join our Pastoral Team. As Head of Year, you will be responsible for leading and managing the attendance and behaviour, as well as progress and achievement of a year group of up to 220 pupils. We are a school that values wellbeing, achievement, and high standards of conduct.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage attendance and behaviour for a year group of up to 220 pupils.
- Monitor progress and attainment of the year group, and implement strategies to raise achievement.
- Communicate effectively with pupils, parents/carers and staff; build positive relationships.
- Promote the well-being and achievement of all students with high interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Motivate and engage our most challenging students to reach high standards.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Proven track record of raising achievement and attainment for groups of pupils.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work within a pastoral framework.
- Dynamic, energetic practitioner with high expectations and a commitment to pastoral care.
- Ability to hold students to high standards and maintain a positive, purposeful learning environment.
