For our site in Crewe, where our team of 70 colleagues produces small plastic containers, we are seeking a Quality Engineer to support the evaluation and development of current manufacturing and QHSE systems. In this technical support role your focus will be to improve Safety, Quality and production. This position is ideal for someone dynamic, organised and ambitious looking to take their career to the next level.
Responsibilities- Support Quality and Production teams, in Quality focussed testing and audits to ensure quality requirements are met at all aspects of the production process, with ownership for the resolution of quality and production issues through the structured application of problem solving and root cause analysis techniques.
- To conduct studies of current production, process and quality control measures, including capability studies. Identify, develop and co-ordinate improvement programs.
- Ownership of Manufacturing Specification and Process Pack documentation, from initial data capture, document creation and control of issue and use within the Operations team.
- Project management of new product and process development to ensure that QSHE requirements are defined and met, new products are manufacturable and controlled with high repeatability.
- Work closely with both process engineers and maintenance engineers to drive improvement if right first time KPI and lead development of a quality focused maintenance program.
- Manage the internal audit programme of product, process, and system audits, with responsibility for monitoring Corrective Action Plans.
- Manage the HSE Risk Assessment Programme, scheduling and leading team based Risk Assessment Reviews and co-ordinating the action plans.
- Manage the Supplier QSE assessment programme, from supplier assessments, performance measurement to supplier audits.
- Support continued certification to ISO 9001, ISO14001, BRC, IPPC permit and certification to ISO 45001, including customer and regulatory audits.
- Support the administration of QSHE system, including review and update of technical drawings and data.
- Degree in Engineering or Technical Discipline.
- Project management, problem solving, organisational and communication skills.
- Knowledge and experience of working within a Quality Management System such as ISO 9001 or ISO 14001.
- Working knowledge of Process Control Methodologies including SPC.
- Advanced IT knowledge, and capability to lead optimisation and automation of IT system projects.
- Full working knowledge of AutoCAD or equivalent.
- Computer literate in the use of word, excel, power point etc.
