About the Role

As a Class 1 Night Driver, you will:

  • Take to the road in curtain-side and box trailers, including both single and double deck trailers, to deliver goods to retail stores throughout the UK.
  • Enjoy a manageable delivery schedule with typically 1 to 3 drops per shift, keeping deliveries on schedule and customers satisfied.
  • Ensure every load is secured safely and compliantly using industry-approved restraint equipment.
  • Complete tail lift deliveries with a strong focus on safety, efficiency and customer service.
  • Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company phone to maintain top-notch vehicle safety and reliability.
  • Maintain regular communication with the transport office to provide updates on delivery progress and respond to any changes or issues in real time.
  • Represent the company professionally at every delivery point, ensuring excellent customer service and building strong relationships with store teams.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development, including refresher courses and updates on industry regulations, to keep your skills sharp and compliant.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Hold a valid UK Class 1 (CE) Driving Licence.
  • Possess a current Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
  • Previous experience delivering to retail, commercial or customer sites is advantageous, although full training can be provided.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and build positive relationships with customers.
  • Be capable of working to planned schedules and delivery deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.
  • Bring a positive, reliable and team-focused approach, with the confidence to work independently when required.
  • Have good geographical awareness and the ability to navigate routes efficiently across the UK.
