About the Role

  • Shunt, load, and unload trailers within the depot, ensuring all units are safely and correctly positioned in designated delivery bays and yard areas.
  • Carry out comprehensive daily vehicle safety inspections using the company issued mobile device, ensuring full compliance with safety standards and optimal vehicle reliability.
  • Liaise closely with the transport office and transport team, providing timely updates on trailer status, safety checks, load conditions, and operational progress to ensure customer expectations are consistently met.
  • Handle local collections and deliveries as required, ensuring timely and professional service.
  • Participate in regular training sessions to stay up to date with industry standards, best practices, and company procedures, continuously enhancing skills and expertise.
  • Receive shunter training in line with company standards to ensure full competency, compliance, and safe operation at all times.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
  • Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
  • Experience using a tug is desirable, though not essential, as full training will be provided.
  • Physically fit, flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated with a positive approach to work.
