This structured course will develop candidates with all the skills and knowledge required to thrive within the logistics industry. As a Trainee Class 2 Driver, you will be supported as you learn the role and gain confidence and competence. Completing collections and deliveries of palletised goods around the South West using a rigid vehicle. Learning how to secure loads correctly using ratchet straps, with some manual handling involved, to ensure all loads are safe and compliant. Keeping in regular contact with the transport team, providing updates and asking for support whenever needed. Taking part in ongoing training and coaching, helping you build skills, confidence, and knowledge of industry standards and best practices. As well as the internal support through the Gregory Group, SP Training will guide you through the licence acquisition process - covering eLearning and tests for the required Theory, Hazard Perception and Driver CPC. Essential Skills and Qualifications A PROVISIONAL HGV C LICENCE is required for all candidates to start the programme to become a Trainee HGV Driver. This requires completion of a medical assessment - you can make a local appointment by going to You can collect the required DVLA D2 & D4 forms at your local Post Office offering DVLA services.
