At Gregory Distribution Ltd (GDL), we have a vacancy for a People Services Administrator based at our North Tawton Depot on a six month fixed term basis.

The position involves:

  • Work as a team to provide a professional and helpful service to all employees and managers.
  • Signpost and transfer employees to other People Services departments where appropriate (ie. Recruitment, People & Culture, Payroll, etc).
  • Have a proactive and collaborative approach, working with other People & Culture colleagues to ensure timely, accurate and professional delivery.
  • Arrange the response to phone and email queries from employees and managers and monitor the central People & Culture inbox.
  • Process starter paperwork, employment offers and references plus associated system administration.
  • Process leaver paperwork and associated system administration.
  • Process transfers, secondment and any other contractual changes including paperwork and system administration.
  • Set up e-file for all new employees and archive leaver e-files.
  • Monitor and process probationary reviews.
  • Respond to reference requests.
  • Add & refresh key fobs.
  • Ensure the People Services system is accurate and up to date at all times including supporting ongoing data cleanse goals.
  • Manage all employee paperwork that needs to be e-filed and keep personnel files up to date.
  • Produce mail merge documents for group communications.
  • Management of Long Service Awards.

Essential skills required:

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced Administration environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Previous experience of database management.
  • Experience of managing email accounts and responding within in a timely and effective manner.
  • Excellent time management, administration and organisation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and attention to detail.
  • IT literate including MS Office.
  • Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Confident, self-motivated and excellent influencing and questioning skills.
  • A good eye for detail.

Desirable skills required:

  • Worked within a People Services environment.
  • Working knowledge of ITrent.
  • Experience of working in the Transport sector.

Salary: Approx £25,600 pa, depending on experience.

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week between 08:30 and 17:00, Monday to Friday. Some home working available.
