Shift: Monday to Friday, 06:30hrs - 15:00hrs

Job Description: Join Our Team as a Skilled Truck and Trailer Technician! Are you passionate about trucks and trailers? Do you have a knack for diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • To ensure all vehicles are maintained to a safe and roadworthy standard in line with DVSA & Group requirements.
  • To carry out MOT preparation on Group assets.
  • To ensure that all inspection/service/defect paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • To ensure that high quality repairs are carried out in a cost-effective manner.
  • Keep all workshop facilities, equipment and tools clean, tidy and well maintained.
  • To support central engineering function in identifying failure trends.
  • To keep up to date with developments within the industry and understand changes that may impact the effective operation of the workshop.
  • Organised and methodical approach to problem solving with attention to detail.
  • Undertake manufacturer training courses as required.
  • To take ownership of personal development, seeking assistance & guidance from team leaders.
  • To account for your own time, be efficient and proactive when working within the workshop.
  • To work as part of the wider team and assist others where needed.

Requirements:

  • Qualified up to NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Goods Maintenance or equivalent, or proven experience as an HGV Technician or in a similar vehicle maintenance role.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • A proven background in commercial vehicle repairs.
  • Knowledge of commercial vehicle legislation and roadworthiness standards.
  • C or C&E driving licence is desirable, but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

  • PLUS: You will receive £10.00 per shift, when on standby rota basis. For each call out you will receive £20.00 call out charge.
