HGV Technician Location: Bathgate Shift: 08:00hrs - 17:30hrs, Monday to Friday, but flexibility on hours may be required. Competitive Salary: £20.00ph working 42.5hrs per week. About the role: As a HGV Technician you will: Ensure all vehicles are maintained to a safe and roadworthy standard in line with DVSA & Group requirements. Carry out MOT preparation on Group assets. Ensure that all inspection/service/defect paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner. Ensure that high quality repairs are carried out in a cost-effective manner. Keep all workshop facilities, equipment and tools clean, tidy and well maintained. Support central engineering function in identifying failure trends. Keep up to date with developments within the industry and understand changes that may impact the effective operation of the workshop. Have an organised and methodical approach to problem solving with attention to detail Undertake manufacturer training courses as and when required. Take ownership of personal development, seeking assistance & guidance from team leaders. Be accountable for your own time, be efficient and proactive when working within the workshop. Work as part of the wider team and assist others where needed. Requirements: Qualified up to NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Goods Maintenance or equivalent, or proven experience as an HGV Technician or in a similar vehicle maintenance role. Full UK Driving Licence. A proven background in commercial vehicle repairs. Knowledge of commercial vehicle legislation and roadworthiness standards. C or C&E driving licence is desirable, but not essential. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team Why Join Pollock Scotrans Ltd? Competitive Salary: £20ph, working 42.5 hours per week. Shift Hours: 08:00hrs - 17:30hrs, Monday to Friday, but flexibility on hours may be required. Overtime: Overtime rate = £28.98ph. PLUS: You will receive £10.00 per shift, when on standby rota basis. For each call out you will receive £20.00 call out charge. Any hours worked on call out, you will receive £28.98ph. Training: Monthly Courses for a variety of areas.
