Join Gregory Distribution as a Transport Supervisor. In this role, you will take a hands-on approach to leading and supervising day-to-day transport operations, supporting a newly established team in Cribbs during an exciting period of growth.

You will play a key part in driving increased workload and expanding the vehicle and driver fleet, while maintaining a strong focus on compliance, efficiency, and operational excellence. This position offers excellent development opportunities and exposure to all aspects of transport operations and leadership, making it ideal for individuals looking to progress their career.

  • Ensure all vehicles and drivers under your supervision are effectively planned and routed, working closely with the planning team to maximise utilisation, meet customer and company service requirements, and maintain strict cost control.
  • Ensure all fleet vehicles operating from Cribbs are maintained in a clean, safe, and professional condition at all times.
  • Enforce adherence to company uniform standards, ensuring appropriate PPE is issued, available, and replenished as required.
  • Provide strong compliance leadership, ensuring all vehicle, driver, and trailer activities meet statutory obligations, legal requirements, and Health & Safety standards.
  • Maintain positive employee relations, addressing local issues promptly and escalating concerns to senior management where appropriate.
  • Manage first-stage disciplinary procedures for team members in line with company policy.
  • Ensure full compliance with customer-specific standards and operational procedures.
  • Coordinate with workshop teams to ensure vehicles and trailers are available for servicing and repairs, maintaining ongoing compliance with operator licence requirements.
  • Support driver recruitment, ensuring all new starters receive a thorough induction and are fully trained in operational and compliance procedures.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience within a transport or logistics environment, with a sound understanding of the Working Time Directive and EU Drivers' Hours regulations.
  • Communicate with confidence and clarity at every level, building strong relationships across the business.
  • Utilise your proficiency in MS Office packages: Word, Excel, and Outlook, to stay on top of reporting and communication.
