About the Role: As a Class 1 Driver, you will play a key role in the safe, professional, and efficient movement of palletised freight across our network. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operating curtain‑side or flatbed trailers to collect and deliver customer products.
  • Trunking palletised freight between depots and pallet‑network hubs on planned day routes.
  • Ensuring all freight is correctly loaded, secured, and restrained, using straps, nets, and other appropriate securing equipment in line with network standards.
  • Completing thorough daily vehicle safety checks - both pre‑departure and end‑of‑shift - using your company device to maintain full compliance.
  • Accurately handling all paperwork, scanning, and freight verification, ensuring smooth hub and depot operations.
  • Maintaining regular, clear communication with the Transport Team, providing updates, reporting issues, and helping manage customer expectations.
  • Representing the business professionally at all customer sites, depots, and network hubs.
  • Participating in ongoing training and development, staying up to date with industry standards and best practice.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
  • Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
  • Experience of delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
  • Tanker experience is desirable but not essential as training will be given.
  • Passionate about providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Confident, polite, and a team player.
  • Good geographical knowledge.
  • Fit, flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated.
