About the Role: As a Class 1 Driver, you will play a key role in the safe, professional, and efficient movement of palletised freight across our network. Your responsibilities will include:
- Operate curtain side or flatbed trailers to collect and deliver customer products.
- Complete trunking of palletised freight between depots and pallet network hubs on planned routes.
- Ensure all freight is correctly loaded, secured, and restrained using straps, nets, and appropriate equipment in line with network standards.
- Be prepared to occasionally work with another team member in the vehicle, supporting training, familiarisation, or operational requirements.
- Carry out thorough daily vehicle safety checks-both pre-departure and end of shift-using your company device to maintain full compliance.
- Accurately manage all paperwork, scanning, and freight verification to support smooth hub and depot operations.
- Maintain clear and regular communication with the Transport Team, providing updates, reporting issues, and helping manage customer expectations.
- Represent the business professionally at customer sites, depots, and network hubs at all times.
- Participate in ongoing training and development, staying up to date with industry standards and best practices.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
- Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
- Experience of delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
- Tanker experience is desirable but not essential as training will be given.
- Passionate about providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Confident, polite, and a team player.
- Good geographical knowledge.
- Fit, flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated.
