About the Role As a Class 1 Driver, you will: Deliver goods to retail stores on a dedicated contract using curtain side, tail lift, and box trailers, while returning store waste to the depot. Enjoy a manageable delivery schedule with typically 1 to 3 drops per shift, keeping deliveries on schedule and customers satisfied. Ensure all loads are safely and securely restrained using straps, nets, and appropriate securing equipment to prevent movement or damage during transit. Safely operate electric‑assisted pallet trucks and carry out manual handling for cage‑based deliveries when required, ensuring efficient and safe unloading at customer sites. Manage trailer movements, including the collection and return of trailers for servicing at the end of each shift. Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company phone to maintain top-notch vehicle safety and reliability. Maintain regular communication with the transport office to provide updates on delivery progress and respond to any changes or issues in real time. Represent the company professionally at every delivery point, ensuring excellent customer service and building strong relationships with store teams. Participate in ongoing training and development, including refresher courses and updates on industry regulations, to keep your skills sharp and compliant. Essential Skills and Qualifications Hold a valid UK Class 1 (CE) Driving Licence. Possess a current Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
