The Role

As Purchasing Manager, you will report to the senior management team, you will take ownership of the purchasing function – from defining procurement strategies to managing supplier relationships and securing high-quality ingredients, packaging, and services. You will ensure cost efficiency while maintaining exceptional product standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and delivering purchasing strategies that balance cost control with quality and sustainability.
• Building and managing long-term relationships with trusted suppliers.
• Negotiating contracts and pricing to secure the best value.
• Monitoring inventory levels and working closely with production planning to anticipate seasonal peaks.
• Ensuring supplier compliance with quality and food safety standards.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives in the supply chain.

The Candidate

The successful Purchasing Manager will be a confident negotiator and commercially minded professional with strong experience in procurement within food manufacturing, FMCG, or a related industry. You’ll be comfortable working in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment and adept at managing multiple priorities.

The ideal candidate:

• Proven track record in purchasing or supply chain management within the food industry.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Experience with seasonal product cycles and premium or specialist ingredients.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and ethical sourcing practices.
• Analytical skills with the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities.
