We are supporting a well-established food manufacturing site in the Lichfield area with the recruitment of a Night Hygiene Manager. This role is critical to site performance, food safety, and audit readiness, offering ownership of the hygiene function during nights within a structured, well-run operation. The site operates to high standards and places strong value on hygiene as a foundation of food safety rather than a tick-box exercise. This is a great opportunity for an experienced hygiene professional to take ownership, build capability, and make a visible impact.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and managing the night hygiene team to ensure effective cleaning and sanitation
  • Delivering hygiene standards in line with BRCGS, food safety, and customer requirements
  • Planning, coordinating, and verifying nightly hygiene activities across the site
  • Ensuring equipment and production areas are clean, safe, and audit-ready for day shift start-up
  • Managing hygiene chemicals, COSHH, and safe systems of work
  • Conducting hygiene inspections, ATP testing, and verification checks
  • Driving continuous improvement in hygiene practices, efficiency, and team capability
  • Supporting audits, investigations, and corrective actions as required

This role requires strong leadership on nights and a proactive, standards-driven approach.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in a Hygiene Manager or Senior Hygiene role within food manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene systems, and BRCGS standards
  • Experience managing teams on night shifts
  • Confident, hands-on leadership style with attention to detail
  • You’ll be someone who takes pride in setting standards, leading from the front, and ensuring the site is ready to perform every morning.
