Overview

We are working in partnership with a well-established UK food manufacturing business to recruit a Compliance Improvement Lead. This role has been created to strengthen site standards, embed best practice, and drive sustainable compliance improvements across food safety, quality, and regulatory frameworks. The business operates within a branded, high-expectation environment and is committed to moving beyond “audit-ready” toward a mature, proactive compliance culture. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong individual who enjoys improving systems, influencing behaviours, and making lasting change.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing, improving, and standardising food safety and compliance systems
  • Driving corrective and preventative actions following audits, incidents, and trend analysis
  • Supporting BRCGS and customer compliance through robust preparation and follow-up
  • Working cross-functionally with Technical, Operations, Hygiene, and Engineering teams
  • Identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Coaching and influencing teams to embed best practice and ownership of standards
  • Supporting internal audits, site inspections, and compliance reviews
  • Contributing to a strong food safety and quality culture across the site

This is an improvement-focused role rather than day-to-day quality assurance.

Candidate Profile

We are keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Experience in a compliance, technical, or quality improvement role within food manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, BRCGS, and regulatory requirements
  • A structured, analytical approach to problem-solving and risk management
  • The confidence to influence without direct authority ie with operations
  • You’ll be someone who enjoys improving how things are done and can balance attention to detail with a pragmatic, site-facing approach.
