The Role

  • Lead the site’s engineering function through a period of transformation and investment.
  • Build a strong, skilled engineering team from varied backgrounds – identifying training needs and embedding development pathways.
  • Develop and implement a clear maintenance strategy focused on uptime, reliability and safety.
  • Drive a proactive engineering culture rooted in accountability, responsiveness and service to production.
  • Deliver capital projects to expand site capability and futureproof the operation.
  • Ensure site compliance across all H&S, Environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Work closely with site leadership to integrate engineering within wider operational planning.
  • Manage contractors and suppliers effectively, ensuring high standards and value for money.
  • Drive improvements through the use of data, KPIs and modern CMMS tools.

  • Have a background in engineering leadership within food or FMCG manufacturing.
  • Be confident developing teams with mixed experience levels – identifying gaps, delivering training and setting clear expectations.
  • Be experienced in supporting new site or brownfield start-up operations.
