The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Manager to lead the site’s technical and quality function. You will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with food safety, legal, and customer standards, while driving a culture of continuous improvement across the operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the technical/quality team on site
- Ensure compliance with BRCGS standards and customer codes of practice
- Oversee and maintain the site’s Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) systems
- Manage audits (internal, external, customer, and regulatory)
- Act as the main point of contact for customers on technical matters
- Drive improvements in food safety, quality, and compliance performance
- Oversee supplier approval and raw material specifications
- Manage non-conformance, complaints, and root cause analysis
- Ensure accurate product labelling and compliance with UK food legislation
- Work cross-functionally with operations, NPD, and senior leadership
About You
- Proven experience in a Technical Manager within food manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of BRCGS, retailer standards, and UK food law
- Experience managing audits and dealing with major UK retailers
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
