The opportunity to work at a well-respected food manufacturing business based in Wythenshawe, known for delivering innovative, high-quality chilled and ambient products to major UK retailers. Due to continued growth and customer demand, they are looking to appoint a talented food technologist to join their technical team.

The Role

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Food Technologist will play a key role in ensuring all products meet food safety, legal, and quality standards. You’ll support product launches, maintain technical documentation, and liaise with both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and manage product specifications for retailer submissions
  • Ensure all products comply with food safety regulations and company policies
  • Conduct shelf-life and organoleptic testing
  • Support NPD and process teams with product trials and launches
  • Assist in internal audits and help prepare for BRC and customer audits
  • Investigate and respond to technical issues and customer complaints
  • Work closely with suppliers to maintain high-quality raw material standards

The Candidate

We’re looking for a candidate with a strong grounding in food safety, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Someone who has worked with specifications, and hands-on experience with a customer-facing role.

Ideal Experience & Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience in a technical or quality role within food manufacturing
  • Good knowledge of HACCP, BRC standards, and retailer technical requirements
  • Experience with major UK retailers (e.g. Tesco / M&S)
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
