This is a high-volume manufacturing site operating to high-care and high-risk standards, with a focus on food safety, product quality, and operational compliance. The incoming Technical Manager will play a central role in this journey, leading the technical function and working closely with senior operations to ensure the site is audit-ready, retail-compliant, and fit for future expansion.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and coach the site technical and QA team, embedding a strong food safety culture.

Take ownership of all food safety, compliance, and quality assurance activities.

Manage and continuously improve site systems: BRCGS, HACCP, GMP, allergen control, traceability.

Host and prepare for customer and third-party audits, maintaining strong audit outcomes.

Oversee supplier quality and raw material standards, ensuring consistency and compliance.

Work cross-functionally with production, engineering, and NPD to resolve issues and support launches.

Required experience:

Proven experience as a Technical Manager or equivalent in food production.

Excellent knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, food legislation, and UK retailer standards.

Hands-on, audit-ready, and comfortable working in a fast-paced factory environment.

Experience within chilled, bakery, ready meals, or meat/poultry sectors is ideal.
