Overview
This is your opportunity to join a successful and growing food manufacturer in North Yorkshire in order to develop and lead theirSafety, Health & Environment (SHE) agenda.
The company is part of a successful UK group of companies, which is itself a subsidiary of one of the largest food manufacturers in Europe so the possibilities for growth are real.
As Head of Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), you drive the H&S agenda and build and execute a robust Environmental agenda. You will be set up to succeed as the company is investing heavily, not least in the ESG projects.
The Role
The successful Head of Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) will:
- Drive a proactive safety culture using established H&S frameworks.
- Keep the sites Safety Management System current and effective.
- Manage and mitigate risk across all areas of site operations.
- Support and challenge teams to meet HSE KPIs and raise standards.
- Lead audits, reviews, and investigations to identify areas for improvement.
- Oversee training and awareness around safety and emergency procedures.
- Ensure plant, equipment, and machinery meet legislative requirements.
- Take responsibility for environmental compliance and sustainability risks.
- Champion continuous improvement across health, safety, and environmental systems.
The Candidate
The successful Head of Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) will have:
- A solid background in Health, Safety & Environment, with relevant qualifications (NEBOSH diploma or similar).
- Senior-level experience leading SHE in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
