The Role

As Head of Engineering, you’ll be responsible for leading a team of 10–12 engineers across maintenance, reliability, and project activity. You’ll set clear priorities to improve equipment uptime, yield, and overall plant efficiency, while fostering a culture of ownership and pride within the team. You’ll work closely with production and operations to ensure engineering supports the wider business strategy, balancing short-term performance improvements with long-term investment and modernisation plans. Occasional travel to a sister site will also be part of your remit, helping to align engineering standards and best practices across the group.

The Candidate

  • Experienced engineering leader, ideally at Head of Engineering or senior Engineering Manager level.
  • Proven track record of managing teams of 10+ engineers within FMCG, food, or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong people manager who leads by example, coaching, mentoring, and empowering engineers to deliver results.
  • Technically astute with experience improving yield and output with legacy or aging equipment.
  • Strong understanding of reliability, asset care, and planned maintenance systems.
  • Confident communicator who can work cross-functionally and influence at all levels.
