Audit Accounts Junior
Location: Liss, Hampshire
Salary: £26,000 to £30,000 plus excellent benefits
Our client is a prominent accountancy and tax advisory practice with several offices across Central and Southern England. They have ambitious plans to expand their business and have created a new opportunity for an Audit & Accounts Junior to join their Liss audit and accounts team. The role is based in Liss but may require infrequent travel to the Winchester office. It is a permanent, full-time position offering hybrid and flexible working options, along with a full study package to support professional qualifications. This role is ideal for someone with at least 1 year of UK audit and/or accounts practice experience.
Job Requirements for Audit Accounts Junior
We are looking for a quick learner who meets the following criteria:
- At least 1 year of UK audit and/or accounts practice experience, including previous UK audit experience
- Educated to A-Level (or equivalent) or higher, such as a degree, with a minimum of 3 A Levels at grades A, B, B or above
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- A positive, confident, and proactive attitude
- Enjoys working as part of a team and is self-motivated
- Willing to undertake and succeed in professional studies
- A full UK driving license is desirable due to travel requirements to other offices and client sites
Job Responsibilities for Audit Accounts Junior
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Building productive relationships within the team and with clients
- Developing technical knowledge through on-the-job training and formal qualifications
- Preparing audit working papers, including bank, fixed assets, wages, salaries, debtors, and creditors
- Attending client stocktakes and reporting findings
- Assisting senior staff with various tasks
- Preparing notes to summarise findings and recommendations
- Posting trial balances into statutory accounts formats and updating disclosures
- Producing financial accounts in accordance with FRS 102 1A, FRS 105, and for sole traders and partnerships
- Preparing working papers/control accounts from incomplete records
- Using accounting software for accurate reporting
- Preparing basic corporation tax computations for clients
