Our client is a growing Aerospace Precision Manufacturing / Engineering company based near Camberley and are looking to recruit an experienced Estimator. As their Estimator Engineer, you would report to the Sales Director, should have a background within precision engineering and experience within costings and estimates. This exciting role is 100% in-house so the successful candidate will need to live a commutable distance from Camberley, Yateley, Reading, Basingstoke, Woking, Aldershot, Guildford, and surrounding areas. Salary is from £30,000 to £50,000 dependent on experience plus excellent benefits.

The ideal candidate should have the following skills and experience:

  • Apprentice trained and experience within CNC Milling / Turning, setting, and operating and ideally some programming.
  • Knowledge of the Aerospace sub-contracting industry / approvals / contracts.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, written, verbal and formal presentation skills.
  • Highly organised - deliver to deadlines.
  • Able to influence with the ability to drive ideas forward.
  • Sound commercial skills with the ability to understand detailed costings, estimates etc.
  • IT & Computer literate.
  • Flexibility to travel as the demands of the role require.
  • Experienced and proven account management record.
  • Able to build, influence and maintain good working relationships at all levels.
  • Determined with a will to succeed, tenacious.
  • Polished and professional.
  • Numerate.

As Estimating Engineer, you would be required to:

  • Manage and nurture client relationships.
  • Understand customers’ requirements for new or repeat engineering solutions.
  • Manage incoming orders from clients, conduct contract reviews at the soonest opportunity, preparation of loading orders on to the system, creating parts and building a BOM.
  • Estimating / costing and engineering.
  • Establish and maintain effective internal and external working relationships.
  • Manage existing customer accounts to ensure the maintenance of good working relationships and customer service are provided.
  • Understand customers’ strategy for engineering requirements and manage customer expectations whilst consistently achieving deadlines.
