Our client is a prominent accountancy and tax advisory practice with several offices in Central and Southern England. To support the organisation’s growth, they have created a new opportunity for an Audit & Accounts Junior to join the Liss audit and accounts team. This role is based in their Liss office, with infrequent travel to the Winchester office. It is a permanent full-time role with hybrid and flexible working options and a full study package to pursue professional qualifications. This is a great opportunity for someone with at least 1 year’s UK audit and/or accounts practice experience.
Job Requirements:
- At least 1 year’s UK audit and/or accounts practice experience.
- Previous UK audit experience.
- Educated to A-Level (or equivalent) or higher, e.g., a degree with a minimum of 3 A Levels at grades A, B, B or above.
- Strong aptitude for IT, specifically Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Proven communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A positive, confident and proactive attitude.
- Enjoy working as part of a team and self-motivated.
- Willingness to undertake and succeed in a range of professional studies.
- A full UK driving license is desirable due to travel requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Building productive working relationships within the group and with clients as required.
- Developing and applying technical knowledge through on-the-job training and formal qualifications.
- Preparing audit working papers for areas involved, including bank, fixed assets, wages and salaries, debtors and creditors.
- Attending clients' stocktakes and reporting findings.
- Assisting more senior members of staff in other areas of the file.
- Preparing notes to summarise findings and recommendations for seniors, managers, and partners.
- Posting the audit clients’ trial balances into statutory accounts format and updating disclosures as necessary.
- Producing financial accounts in accordance with FRS 102 1A and FRS 105 as well as sole trader and partnership accounts.
- Preparation of working papers/control accounts from incomplete accounting records.
- Using accounting software to provide accurate reporting for Managers, Partners, and clients.
- Preparing basic corporation tax computations for clients.
